Why Are John and David More Likely to Become Department Chair Than Joan or Jamal?

Dr. Carnes directs the Center for Women’s Health Research and four federally-funded training grants aimed at increasing the development of a diverse cadre of future leaders in academic medicine, science, and engineering. She is co-Principal Investigator of the ADVANCE Partnerships for Adaptation, Implementation, and Dissemination grant, which have supported the Women in Science and Engineering Leadership Institute.
